Bilingual storyteller Felix Pitre entertained Milton and H.O. Brittingham elementary students with songs and stories encouraging respect for the environment and animals during a special assembly for kindergarten through second grade Nov. 8.
Pitre’s show Animal Tales, or Animales, presented a collection of animal stories from Brazil, Mexico and Peru, and classics “Froggie Went a Courtin’,” “Alouette” and “The Lion Sleeps Tonight.”
Students, laughed, clapped and sang along with Pitre, who suggested students read library books about animals that could given them ideas to write their own stories.
