Boardwalk, Bandstand fill for Buddy Walk
Created in 2006, the annual Boardwalk Buddy Walk in Rehoboth Beach went off without a hitch Oct. 6. Hundreds of self-advocates and their supporters turned the Bandstand and the Boardwalk green during the celebration. The evening before the walk, Oct. 5, there was a Buddy Up Party at the Dewey Beach Lions Club
According to the Boardwalk Buddy Walk website, the mission of the Boardwalk Buddy Walk has been to create a community where people with Down syndrome, or any cognitive disorder, can live, learn, work, and play.
