Brenda F. Drake, had creative touch

September 22, 2022

Brenda F. Drake, 75, of Lewes, and formerly of Beltsville, Md., passed away Tuesday, Sept. 20, 2022, at her home. She was born Sept. 20, 1947, in Norfolk, Va., daughter of the late Dewey and Gwendolyn (Wise) Fisher.

Brenda took great pride in her home and family. She dedicated her life to raising her boys and maintaining a beautiful and inviting home; one that always felt welcoming to all. Brenda was a member of Delmarva Hogs and Easy Riders Motorcycle Clubs and loved tagging along with her husband for rides, whether short or long. She was also on the board of directors for the Miss Delaware Pageant. Brenda’s creative side lent itself to stained-glass artistry and flower arranging. Above all, she treasured time spent with those she held most dear. Brenda was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. Loved by many, she will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

In addition to her parents, Brenda was preceded in death by her sister, Linda Bowen. She is survived by her beloved husband of 53 years, Richard Drake of Lewes; her sons: Timothy Drake of Milton, and Jason Drake (Christine) of New Castle; her granddaughters: Madison Drake of Milton, and Aubrey and Kate Drake, both of New Castle; her brother-in-law, Steve Bowen of Germantown, Md.; her nephew, Kevin Fantacci of Point of Rock, Md.; and her niece, Jamie Bowen of Germantown.

A public viewing will be held from 3 to 5 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 27, at Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 16961 Kings Highway, Lewes.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to American Heart Association, 131 Continental Drive, Ste. 407, Newark, DE  19713.
