Bright sun brings good times at Henlopen Springfest

Throngs of visitors were welcomed by beautiful weather for the annual Henlopen Springfest event at Hudson Fields May 27. Presenting sponsors are WSFS Bank and Jack Lingo Realtor.

The event benefits groups such as Shriner's Hospitals for Children, Home of the Brave and others supporting local first responders and local families in need of essentials like food and clothing.

Kids’ activities included bounce houses, an inflatable obstacle course with a slide and jumbo pipe races. A magician entertained the crowd with his sleight of hand, painted faces were on display everywhere, and touch-a-truck demonstrations pulled in curious kids.

Merchandise vendors sold everything from pictures to dog collars. The Delaware State Police Aviation Unit had its helicopter on site for inspection.

Music was provided by Jovon Newman, Electric Velvet and area favorite Mike Hines and The Look.

A double-elimination cornhole tournament was held.

Endeavor Lodge No. 17 also hosted its 12th annual car and truck show.
