Broom-tossing contest, all-day music highlight Sea Witch Festival Oct. 27

September 23, 2012

All age-based categories get a chance to toss their numbered broom on the beach, with the longest distance winning at the broom-tossing contest set for 3:30 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 27.  The event is one of dozens of family-centered activities at the 23rd Annual Sea Witch Halloween and Fiddler's Festival Oct. 26-28.

As Delaware’s official state Fiddler’s Festival, Sea Witch has been billed as “top string!” Fiddlers and banjo players alike provide a full day of foot-stompin’ entertainment.

With a cash prize contest, the audience becomes the recipient of some of the best pickin’ possible. There are both adults' and children’s competitions for best fiddle, bluegrass and banjo playing. The Fiddler’s Festival is held from 1 to 6 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 27, at the Rehoboth Beach Convention Center. There are no fees for the Fiddler’s Festival; donations are appreciated.
