Build-a-Bear Workshop opens at Tanger Seaside
Build-a-Bear Workshop, where children bring their imagination to life by building their own stuffed animals, opened its doors July 17 at Seaside Outlets of Rehoboth Beach.
Children from the Rehoboth Beach Boys and Girls Club were among the first to build the stuffed animal of their dreams during a July 22 ribbon cutting at the new workshop.
Originally limited to teddy bears, the workshop has expanded its offerings to include dragons, dogs, cats and minions. The Rehoboth location is Build-a-Bear's first outlet workshop and only the second workshop in Delaware.
“So far it’s been awesome,” said Chief Workshop Manager Lisa Justice.
Build-a-Bear Workshop outlet will promote leadership and creativity by partnering with the Rehoboth Beach Boys and Girls Club, Justice said. With about 75 different animals to choose from, the creativity should come naturally.
So far, the workshop has seen more visiting families than locals, but officials are hoping that will change soon. “I’m excited,” said Demaris Miller, program director of the Rehoboth Beach Boys and Girls Club. “I’m really looking forward to bringing my kids here.”
Build-a-Bear Workshop follows regular outlet hours and is located in the Seaside Tanger Outlets, open 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. weekdays, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sundays through Sunday, Sept. 6. For information on the workshop, call 302-864-9016.
