C. William "Bill" Warner, proud firefighter

C. William "Bill" Warner, 69, of Milton, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family after losing his battle with ALS Friday, July 8, 2016.

Bill was born in Kenton, son of the late Charles Floyd and Kathryn (Burris) Warner. He and his family had made Milton their home for the past 15 years.

Bill worked most of his life in the agriculture sales industry. He was a lifetime member of Hartly Volunteer Fire Company and member of the Memorial Fire Company where he served as past president and as a fire policeman. He also spent over 40 years as an instructor with Delaware State Fire School. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Bill is preceded in death by his father-in-law, Sterling "Bud" Aten.

He is survived by his wife of 21 years, Kelly (Aten) Warner; two children, Mike M. Warner and wife Mandi, and Kortnie R. Marsch and husband Ricky; three grandchildren, Dakota A. Warner, Landon M. Marsch and Zoey R. Marsch, all of Milton; his mother-in-law, Judy Aten of Berwick, Pa.; and a cousin, BJ Ryder of Frederica.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 10 a.m. to noon, Saturday, Aug. 13, in the chapel of Short Funeral Services, 416 Federal St., Milton.
