CAMP Rehoboth offers free tickets to all Sundance events
CAMP Rehoboth, recognizing the toll COVID-19 has taken on the community, has re-envisioned its annual Labor Day weekend Sundance event into a community-wide celebration of connectedness.
United in Love is not just the theme, it is also the concept for the event, which is designed to help several nonprofits in addition to CAMP Rehoboth and to show appreciation to area businesses.
At the heart of United in Love is access to all the events during the week-long celebration. For more information and free tickets, go to camprehoboth.com.
Sundance United in Love will start with the kickoff at 6 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 29, and will culminate with the experience at 6 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 5. The week will include an online auction, dine-to-donate restaurant activities, movies at the Rehoboth Beach Film Society, bachelor auction, virtual 5K and a variety of other entertainments. Several events will be streamed on Facebook Live. Ticket holders will get advance information about all events, and invitation links to the kickoff and the experience. Not all events will be published, so hosts, supporters, sponsors, and ticket holders will get the full advance details on Sundance-at-Large events plus a Party-In-A-[Virtual]Box email with lots of tips for a #partyatyourhome including links to playlists by the DJs who usually play this weekend event: legendary disco DJ Robbie Leslie, international DJ/remixer Joe Gauthreaux, and Mid-Atlantic DJ Stephen Strasser.
“We hope to create the same sense of exuberance and joy as with every Sundance of the past, in a virtual environment,” said David Mariner, CAMP Rehoboth executive director. “There will be meetup opportunities, at-home activities, unusual auction items, special music, cocktail recipes, and plenty of opportunities for a party.”
“We all need something to celebrate right now,” said Murray Archibald, CAMP Rehoboth and Sundance co-founder and Sundance 2020 chair. “United in Love will give us a chance to spend a week meeting, supporting, and rejoicing in each other.”
