August 2, 2024

The Southern Delaware Roller Derby Team recently received a $500 donation from Big Chill Surf Cantina, with proceeds raised during the Cantina Olympics event featuring spirited competitions and games.

Fostering athleticism, camaraderie and community engagement, the team, aka SoDel Roller Derby, is a local nonprofit established in 2011 by a group of skaters dedicated to introducing and promoting the sport of roller derby across Southern Delaware. The team operates as an inclusive flat-track league based in Dover.

"We are thrilled we got to support the Southern Delaware Roller Derby Team through our annual Cantina Olympics," said AJ Borrero, Big Chill Surf Cantina general manager. "It's awesome to see the passion and dedication of the roller derby community here in Delaware, and we are honored to contribute to their ongoing endeavors."
