Cape boys’ lacrosse wins Henlopen Conference Championship

Cape boys’ lacrosse ran the roster at Milford May 17, jumping to an unfathomable 15-2 first-quarter lead on the way to a 26-5 win. The victory secured the Henlopen Conference Championship for the Vikings, as Cape awaits the Sunday, May 19 seedings to see where they fall in the postseason bracketing.

Cape’s diversified scoring attack was paced by Greg Boyce with five goals; Gabe Best with four; Jack Dennis, Blake Gipko and Jake Truitt with three each; Hank D’Ambrogi and Robbie Rickenbach with two apiece; and Luke D’Ambrogi, Adem Tekmen, Finbar Rishko and Nathan Loucks with single goals.

Assists leaders were Luke D’Ambrogi with six, Best with two, and Boyce, Dennis, Gipko, Hank D’Ambrogi and Carlton Dorman with one each.

Goalie saves included Baxter Travers with six, Sean Griffith with one and Carson Kammerer with one.
