Members of the Cape Henlopen Elks Lodge 2540 of Lewes recently visited Rehoboth Elementary School to donate supplies needed by staff and students.
Buddy Hall-McBride, exalted ruler, applied for and received grant funds from the Maryland/Delaware/DC Elks Association. Dr. John Kreitzer, Elks scholarship chairman, reached out to Dr. Doris Person, Rehoboth Elementary principal, to see which items were most needed. At the top of the list were children’s headphones to be used for testing and online learning.
The Elks provided 80 headphones, along with 720 pencils, 300 highlighters, 375 pocket folders, and a large variety of index and note cards used for studying.
“As a community service organization, the Cape Henlopen Elks Lodge would like to be sure that students in our local elementary schools have access to necessary school supplies,” said Hall-McBride.
