Cape Henlopen Elks host trick-or-treat fun
Cape Henlopen Elks 2540 hosted a youngsters’ Halloween party Oct. 22, to which all Elks children and grandchildren ages 12 and younger were invited.
Nearly 20 costumed children and their families attended the event held in the large hall at the Lewes lodge.
The fun began with a light lunch prepared by the kitchen staff, which included kid-friendly delicacies such as chicken nuggets, mummy hot dogs and pumpkin patch clementines. Decorate-your-own cookies was a craft that held the kids' attention until lunch was over, and the games were about to begin.
Helpful Halloween volunteers directed the children to the various stations to try their hands at one of the many games that were spread around – witch's hat ring toss, pin the spider in the web, and eyeball spoon relay.
The party concluded with a parade to show off all the amazing and creative costumes. The successful afternoon was filled with fun, music, candy, prizes and smiles galore.
The Cape Henlopen Elks are proud to be able to provide local families with a safe and supervised alternative to traditional Halloween door-to-door trick-or-treating.
