Cape Henlopen Elks Lodge 2540 supports JROTC

April 10, 2022

Select members of the Cape High JROTC attended a special lunch hour March 25 at Cape Henlopen Elks Lodge near Lewes.

After all enjoyed their choice of several lunch entrees, the veterans committee presented the cadets with a $500 check to help cover costs associated with their off-campus projects.

Representing the Elks were Exalted Ruler Joanne Mayer and Veterans Committee members Robert Trafton, chair; Dan Celia; Michael Fishman; Nancy Bush; and Jim Quigley.  On hand from the Cape High JROTC were First Sgt. Philip Webb; Sgt. Richard T. Hurt; and Cadet Capt. Tyller Maltbie, Cadet Capt. Sam Kerstetter and Lt. Col. Marina Santini.

Elks members hope this donation to the Cape High JROTC will go a long way in supporting community service and patriotism, which are goals shared by the Elks.
