Cape Henlopen Senior Center hosts vibrant celebration for Black History Month

February 22, 2024

For the second year, people of all ages gathered to celebrate Black history at the Cape Henlopen Senior Center Feb. 16. Speech makers, poets and singers highlighted the vibrancy and diversity of African American culture.

“What better way to honor Black history,” said Bernita Hackney, program director of the Cape Henlopen Senior Center.

This day was not just about honoring the past, but also about looking toward the future with hope and determination. It's a reminder that history is not just something to be remembered, but something to be celebrated and built upon.
