Cape unified basketball falls to IR in regular season finale

The Cape unified basketball team finished up the regular season with a 26-42 loss to Indian River. The Vikings move to 5-3, while the Indians end their regular season at 6-1.
Freshman Kayden Gibbs led the Vikings with 13 points. Zane Richardson scored five. Sophia Adams, Sara Davis, Noah Ryan and Charlotte Maxwell hit for two each.
“This season has shown that our team had to play hard and competitive,” said Cape head coach Jenn Hagan. “I was glad to be able to add additional quarters to our home games so that everyone has a chance to play. Other schools do not always do that and it is difficult to give playing time to everyone when the team continues to grow in numbers. We are lucky to have the caliber of student-athlete at Cape who treats all players with respect.”
