Capital Ringers Christmas handbell concerts to open Nov. 30
Capital Ringers, Delmarva’s community handbell ensemble, will present its Christmas Around the World concert at venues in Lewes, Rehoboth Beach, Milford, Seaford and Salisbury, Md. The shows are a holiday tradition throughout the region.
Comprising advanced handbell ringers, Capital Ringers owns the largest collection of handbells and handchimes on Delmarva.
“Our concerts will take listeners on a musical journey through the Great Gate of Kiev to Germany, England, France, Spain, the West Indies, Canada, and Brazil, ultimately circling the globe back to Ukraine with the famous Ukrainian Carol of the Bells,” said Kevin B. Chamberlain, Capital Ringers artistic director. “Our ringers will showcase a variety of ringing techniques using our Schulmerich handbells, auxiliary bells and handchimes with percussion.”
Performances will be: 4 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 30, at Bethel United Methodist Church, Lewes; 4 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 1, Mt. Olivet United Methodist Church, 315 High St., Seaford; 4 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 8, at Wicomico Presbyterian Church, 129 Broad St., Salisbury, Md.; 3 p.m. (note earlier time), Saturday, Dec. 14, at Epworth United Methodist Church, 19285 Holland Glade Road, Rehoboth Beach; and 4 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 15, Avenue United Methodist Church, Milford.
