Caroline Judge named social media specialist for SoDel Concepts

Scott Kammerer, president of SoDel Concepts, recently announced the promotion of Caroline Judge to the position of social media specialist for the company, which owns nine restaurants, Plate Catering and the food truck Big Thunder Roadside Kitchen. A 10th restaurant, Bluecoast Seafood Grill & Raw Bar, is scheduled to open in spring 2017.

Judge, who graduated from Northwestern University, joined the SoDel Concepts corporate office part time in July. Before moving back to Delaware, Judge worked with the TJX Companies, an American apparel and home goods retailer. She helped with seasonal photo shoots, wrote creative briefs, assisted with the advertising for store grand openings, and worked on social media competitive analysis.

"It didn't take long for us to realize that Caroline was a valuable addition to our team," Kammerer said. "We knew that we wanted to hire her full time. She's smart, and she's hardworking. Social media is a rapidly changing sector, and she stays on top of it. She has also worked in our restuarnats, which is a plus. She understands the culture of the company on every level."

Judge, who majored in marketing, is responsible for the social media accounts for all the restaurants, as well as the company as a whole. Her duties involve working with the chefs and managers to create cohesive marketing campaigns for each restaurant and for the company as a whole. She also monitors SoDel Concepts' presence on other sites, and she collects and analyzes all social media-related data. Judge was recently invited to sit on the panel at the Chestertown Maryland Social Media Workshop.

"We have a highly visible and frequent appearance on social media, and Caroline is the perfect person to oversee it," Kammerer said.

Judge knows the area well. The Lewes native went to Cape Henlopen School District schools. At Northwestern University, she was a two-time MVP on the women's field hockey team.
