Carolyn B. Hahn, active church member
Carolyn “Carol” B. Hahn, 70, of Massey’s Landing, Millsboro, formerly of Wilmington, passed away Monday, July 11, 2011, at home.
She was born in Wilmington, daughter of the late George Egnar and Naomi Daisy (Stevens) Bergstrom.
She was a 1960 graduate of P.S. DuPont High School and retired Sears associate. Carol was a faithful Christian and active member of East Gate Presbyterian Church. Her joy throughout her life was unselfishly taking care of others and spending time with her family and friends. Carol loved spending time in the sun, whether it was on the boat or at the beach. Her friendly smile and warm hugs always made you feel welcome. Her quick and witty sense of humor could always make you laugh.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Richard “Dick” Hahn Sr. who passed away December 27, 2010 after of 49 years of marriage; and grandson Brian Richard Hahn.
She is survived by their three children, son Richard (Ricky) Jr. and his wife Cindy of Newark, son Robert (Robby) and his wife Jen of Stanton, and daughter Cynthia (Cyndy) and husband Anthony of Middletown; and three grandchildren A.J. Winnington Jr. and Logan and Chloe Hahn. Carol is also survived by one brother, the Rev. Daniel P. Bergstrom and his wife Ester of West Grove, Pa.
A memorial service will be held at noon, Monday, July 18, at the Long Neck Chapel of Melson Funeral Services, 32013 Long Neck Road, Millsboro, where friends may call after 11 a.m.
