Catherine Joan Hall, woman of faith

December 5, 2023

Catherine “Cass” Joan Hall went to be with the Lord Friday, Dec. 1, 2023, peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family. Cass was born March 15, 1937, to George and Catherine Murphy.

Cass, a most loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Joseph; her siblings, George, James and Marie; and her grandson, Jonathan. She is survived by her children, Joseph Hall (Kim), Susan Cassidy and Jeffrey Hall; along with her sister, Rita Oganowski; her grandchildren, Joseph Hall (Destiny) and Katherine Logue (Matthew); her great-grandchildren, Tomas, Devin, Amaya, Nolan and Emory; and great-great-grandson, Ryleigh.

Graduating from St. Elizabeth’s High School in Wilmington, Cass was an accomplished skater at the competitive level. She soon met her husband Joe, the love of her life, on a blind date. Their marriage and love were something to be admired; they set the bar for what true love should look like. Married for 55 years, Cass and Joe were avid golfers at Sussex Pines Country Club. They enjoyed hosting gatherings for family and friends; Christmas Eve at Cass and Joe’s was always quite a welcoming and memorable event.

Before becoming a mother, she worked in the lab at St. Francis Hospital. She later became a talented floral and interior designer. Her work while at National Decorative Distributors was recognized in the industry as the best in her field.

Cass was known for her strong faith in the Lord, and for being a prayer warrior; if she knew you, she would pray for you. She spoke openly of her anticipation of being at home with her Father in heaven. Her family is at peace knowing that she is reunited in heaven with Joe and those loved ones who have passed before.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Dec. 6, at Epworth United Methodist Church, 19285 Holland Glade Road, Rehoboth Beach, where friends may visit beginning at 10 a.m. A reception will follow at Ivy on Dagsworthy Avenue in Dewey Beach directly after the service. Burial will take place at 1 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 7, at Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 26669 Patriots Way, Millsboro.

Services have been entrusted to Parsell Funeral Homes and Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, Lewes.
