Center for the Inland Bays celebrates 25th anniversary

October 5, 2019

The Center for the Inland Bays celebrated its 25th anniversary Sept. 27 with a gala at the new Lighthouse Cove event center at Hyatt Place in Dewey Beach.

Guests enjoyed hor’doeuvres and drinks at the recently completed venue with access to the new picturesque boardwalk along the bay. Inside, guests had the opportunity to bid on dozens of silent auction items followed by a live auction later in the evening.

Center for the Inland Bays Executive Director Chris Bason enthusiastically talked about his organization’s work. Founded in 1994, the group aims to enhance the inland bays watershed through public outreach and education, developing and implementing restoration projects, encouraging scientific inquiry, sponsoring research and establishing a long-term process for the protection and preservation of the watershed.
