Charles A. Donovan, longtime farmer

Charles A. Donovan passed away Thursday, June 15, 2023, at Bayhealth Sussex Hospital in Milford. He was 81.

Charles was born Feb. 3, 1942, son of the late Preston E. and Alice G. (Burton) Donovan.

He did farm work for many years, and cherished his time at the CHEER Center in Georgetown with his friends.

In addition to his parents, Charles was preceded in death by his sister, Elizabeth White; and his brother, Albert Donovan.

Charles is survived by his brother, Joseph H. Donovan of Georgetown; sister, Dorothy Cannon of Millsboro; and sister, June Donovan of Georgetown.

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m., Wednesday, June 21, at Short Funeral Services chapel, 609 E. Market St., Georgetown, where friends may call after noon. Interment will follow at Conley’s Chapel Cemetery, Lewes.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made in Charles’s honor to CHEER Community Center, 20520 Sand Hill Rd., Georgetown, DE 19947.
