Charles Louis Justice Sr., successful restaurant owner
Charles Louis Justice Sr., 88, of Rehoboth Beach, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 17, 2023. He was born Aug. 23, 1935, in Baltimore, Md., son of the late William II and Marie (Goodwin) Justice.
Charles spent the majority of his life in the Baltimore area, owning and operating Glorie’s Place Restaurant in Essex, Md., for over 30 years. In his younger days, while living in Essex, he was involved in local politics. Retiring to Rehoboth Beach in 1997, Charles remained active as a member of the Elks Lodge, VFW, and American Legion. A Baltimore boy at heart, his loyalty to the Orioles and Ravens never wavered; he remained an avid fan throughout his life. Above all, Charles treasured the time spent with his loved ones. He was a caring and devoted father, grandfather, and friend. Loved by many, he will be forever missed.
In addition to his parents, Charles was preceded in death in 2019 by his beloved wife, Gloria Marie Justice; his brother, William E. Justice III; and his stepdaughter, Janice Dick. He is survived by his children, Charles Louis Justice Jr., Teresa VanKirk and Nancy Justice; his stepchildren, James Curtis, Donna Moore and Mona Bream; nine grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and and his sister, Rosemarie Hastings.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, Nov. 13, at Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 16961 Kings Hwy., Lewes, where friends may visit beginning at 10 a.m.
