Charles Santoni, federal retiree

Charles (Chuck) Santoni, MBA, CPA, passed away at his home in Lewes Friday, Nov. 29, 2024. Chuck was born in Highlandtown, Baltimore City, Md., above his father’s grocery store to Charles J. Santoni and Constance Santoni (nee Mierzwicki).

Chuck spent 38 years working in the federal government. His last 21 years were spent at the Office of the DOD Inspector General, where he retired as the program director for Intelligence Audits.

Chuck loved Baltimore sports and had season tickets to the Colts, Stallions, and Ravens. He was also an avid follower of the Baltimore Orioles. He managed baseball for seven years and coached basketball for three years at the Severn Athletic Club. Chuck never missed any of his children’s athletic endeavors in baseball, soccer, wrestling, football, tennis, basketball, volleyball, swimming, and softball.

He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Joyce (nee Janney); and their four children and spouses, Charles Jr. (Carlo) and his wife Christine, Anthony, Christina Miller and her husband Aaron, and Amanda and her wife Cindy. He is also survived by five grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; and his sister, Geraldine Fuller.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, Dec. 17, at Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 16961 Kings Hwy., Lewes, where friends and family may begin visiting from 10 to 11 a.m. Interment will follow at St. Peter’s Cemetery, 660 Pilottown Road, Lewes.
