Charlie K. McCurdy, man of God
Mr. Charlie K. McCurdy of Milton, formerly of Berlin, Pa., passed away peacefully with his family by his side Sunday, Feb. 28, 2016.
Mr. McCurdy was born in Greensburg, Pa., May 23, 1946, to the late Charlie R. and Mabel M. Steffey McCurdy.
Charlie owned his own plumbing and heating business. He was a master of mechanical skill and could fix just about anything. He also was a great woodworker, hunter and archer. Charlie was a very sincere man of God who loved to share his faith with others. He was devoted to his family and had a great love for animals including his late canine companion Miss Shelby. The saying is true: “Everybody loves Charlie.”
He is survived by his devoted wife of 47 years, Linda K. McCurdy of Milton; two daughters, Andrea Senturk and her husband Tony of Milton, and Laurie Bucka-Childers and her husband Dr. Henry Childers IV of Lewes; two sisters, Donna Deaner and her husband Wayne of Saxonburg, Pa., and Darlene Knepper and her husband Dr. James Knepper of Berlin; along with seven grandchildren, Leah, Aaron, Kevin, Zachary, Bethany, Henry and Maxwell. Charlie is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, March 12, at the Berlin Brethren Church, 620 Main St., Berlin.
