Classical piano concert to benefit Beebe Healthcare Sept. 14
Coastal Concerts will present acclaimed classical pianist Jim-Isaac Chua for a concert to benefit Beebe Healthcare at 2 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 14, at Bethel United Methodist Church Hall, Fourth and Market streets, Lewes.
Known for his virtuosic skill and emotive performances, Chua promises to deliver an unforgettable afternoon of classical music.
Since his solo debuts at Carnegie Hall and the Kosciuszko Foundation in New York in 2009, Chua, a resident of Poland, has delighted audiences in the United States, Canada, Poland, France, Italy, Austria, Myanmar, Indonesia and the Philippines.
Chua’s passion for performing to benefit nonprofit organizations like Habitat for Humanity and The Arc Foundation has also resulted in him being featured on several TV and radio interviews. He was also featured on the cover of GO! Eastern Oregon for his concert benefiting Crossroads Carnegie Art Center to make the arts accessible to all in the area. Earlier that year, Chua was invited to perform in Vienna by several musical organizations including Gesellschaft für Musiktheater and Wiener-Krakauer Kultur Gesellschaft.
Chua graduated from the Eastman School of Music, Vancouver Academy of Music and the Karol Szymanowski Academy of Music.
Lewes resident Lani Spahr will conduct an in-depth live interview with Chua prior to the concert, and a wine and cheese reception with the artist will be held immediately following the performance at the Margaret H. Rollins School of Nursing at Beebe Healthcare.
With a repertoire that includes Beethoven, Chopin, Rachmaninoff and Ravel, audiences can expect to be transported through time and emotion as Chua brings each piece to life with his passion and masterful touch.
Attendance and contributions will make a significant difference in the lives of those in need.
Ticket prices are $75 for general seating, $90 for premium seating and $10 for the reception.
