Clear Space welcomes actors returning for summer season to open June 27

June 3, 2017

The third time will indeed be charm(ing) for Clear Space Theatre audiences, as they welcome Devon Frieder to another summer rep season. "I am so excited to be spending my third summer in a row at Clear Space - my home away from home!" says Frieder. "Performing three shows in rep is incredibly challenging, but also gives me the most amazing opportunities, both as a performer and choreographer. I get to play dream roles - this year, I'll be Ariel in 'The Little Mermaid,' Elle in 'Legally Blonde' and Val in 'A Chorus Line' - all while working with an amazing group of professionals who constantly push and inspire me. I can't wait to spend another summer at the beach, doing what I love!"

Frieder is not the only Clear Space veteran returning for another season. It will be "déjà vu all over again" for Andrew Cuccaro and Abigail Matsusaka, both returning for second seasons.

Cuccaro says, "What better place to spend the summer than at the ocean with talented actors of all ages, and an incredible creative team? Clear Space Theatre Co. is unlike any other - its unique performance space, intense repertory schedule and beautiful location are just a few of its attractions. Even better are the terrific challenges it offers me as an actor and an artist. I'll be tackling various and contrasting roles every night of the week, as I rotate through Flounder in 'The Little Mermaid,' Aaron in 'Legally Blonde 'and Bobby in 'A Chorus Line.' I am just thrilled to be returning for a second summer season with Clear Space!"

Matsusaka echoes her fellow performers' enthusiasm: "I am so excited to be back at Clear Space this year! Last year, I learned so much, from such talented and genuinely kind people, both about performing and about how much hard work it takes from the whole cast and artistic team to create a successful season. Now, I'm just so ready to get started on another amazing summer. I'll be part of the ensemble in 'The Little Mermaid," and will appear as Enid in 'Legally Blonde' and Connie in 'A Chorus Line' - I cannot wait! I also cannot say enough good things about the community of Rehoboth Beach - it'll be terrific to walk down the Boardwalk again."

Clear Space Theatre's summer repertory season opens Tuesday, June 27, running Monday through Saturday evenings (except July 4) all summer. The summer rep season concludes Saturday, Sept. 2. The opening-night show begins at 6:30; all other shows begin at 7:30 p.m. "A Chorus Line," "Legally Blonde" and "The Little Mermaid" will rotate throughout the season, with all shows performed one or more times each week. Tickets for the opening-night show June 27 are $60 and include appetizers and beverages. Tickets for all other shows are $17-32.
