Clear Space Theatre Company's Board of Directors recently welcomed four new members. Randy Burton and Katherine Davison of Lewes, Kevin Hobbs of Newark, and Kelly Quinn of Slaughter Beach have offered their service and skills to the board. They join the eight standing board members, led by Chair Mary Kay Ryan.
“The board of directors is committed to the theatrical and educational missions of Clear Space,” said Burton. “We maintain a laser focus on advancing the growth and sustainability of the company, in addition to supporting our very talented staff.”
Burton, owner of Burton Builders in Lewes, brings more than two decades of business experience to Clear Space, as well as his active community involvement, due in many ways to his four sons. His work ethic of building a business that is community-minded and builds relationships will certainly be of great benefit to Clear Space.
Davison is a native of Baltimore who moved to Lewes in 2005 after being a part-time beach resident for more than 20 years. Her background is in public relations and marketing, and she currently works for Comcast Spotlight, the advertising division of Comcast. She has been involved with organizations such as CAMP Rehoboth, Milton Theatre, and the Lewes and Rehoboth Beach chambers of commerce.
A licensed financial adviser, Hobbs brings his expertise to Clear Space after his nephew became actively involved with the Clear Space Arts Institute. Hobbs spent 15 years in various managerial positions with Verizon Wireless, as well as two years in California as a start-up business adviser. He is currently involved in a financial planning partnership with Ameriprise Financial in Wilmington.
Kelly Quinn, who began her relationship with Clear Space as a volunteer and usher, spent 15 years in the hospitality industry as a restaurant manager and corporate management trainer before finding a new career in sales and marketing for an upscale wine and spirits wholesale company.
These four board members have come on board in a time of great growth for the company. “We expect to see an increase in both the number of theatrical patrons and students in our Arts Institute programs this year,” said Ryan. “We have evidence that this is already happening very early in the year.”
