Coastal Cleanup held throughout Delaware

September 24, 2012

The 26th Annual Coastal Cleanup was held Sept 15 on the beaches of Delaware. In Delaware, 40 locations were targeted in Sussex, Kent and New Castle counties.

Last year more than 2,000 volunteers collected more than 10 tons of trash from the states shorelines. The local Coastal Cleanup is a part of the Ocean Conservancy's International Coastal Cleanup, which urges people all over the world to clean up their marine environments.

Shown out on the windswept Rehoboth beach are (l-r) Nancy Stoner, Carol Brice and Karen DeSantis collecting trash and keeping records in their Coastal Cleanup T-shirts.
