Coastal Concerts seeks donations to ensure continued success

Remaining season performances canceled due to COVID-19
December 2, 2020

The Coastal Concerts board of directors recently announced the cancelation of the remaining concerts in the 2020-21 season.

Board members said they feel it is their responsibility to help flatten the coronavirus curve and keep their patrons, artists, volunteers and staff safe. While organizers have worked hard to try to provide live classical music concerts this season, safety must come first.

Coastal Concerts organizers look forward to hosting audiences in the future, after the pandemic threat has passed.

Patrons who have purchased tickets or season subscriptions to any postponed concerts will soon receive a communication explaining how to request a full refund, or to donate all or part of their ticket refund back to the organization.

Especially during these challenging times, Coastal Concerts depends on the generous support of individual donors. Those investments enable the organization to provide music to the community. Historically, ticket sales covered about 40 percent of the revenues needed to cover expenses. To fill the gap, Coastal Concerts relies on program booklet advertising, grants, and individual and corporate donations.

Coastal Concerts has continued to offer many important programs during this challenging time, including community and education programs as well as music scholarships. Because the organization will not benefit from ticket revenues this year, it is even more important that patrons play a part to ensure its continued artistic and institutional success by making a contribution during its fall fundraiser.
