Coastal Dance Academy team earns honors; master class set March 12-13

March 7, 2011

In January, Coastal Dance Academy's competition team, which includes 24 dancers, traveled to the nation’s capital, where dancers competed at the Tremaine regional competition. The team competed in 15 numbers and placed in the top three in 12 of them. The junior, teen and senior teams competed in tap, ballet, jazz and hip-hop, qualifying for the national level in all four styles. Also, the junior team won first place in the jazz category, dancing to "Walk the Dinosaur." The girls are looking forward to the Tremaine national competition held July 7-11, in Orlando, Fla.

Two professional dancers/choreographers will be coming to Lewes Saturday and Sunday, March 12 and 13, to teach a master workshop at Coastal Dance Academy. Colby Shinn and Adam Brenner, both of whom have worked with choreographers from “So You Think You Can Dance,” “Dancing with the Stars" and most recently with Beyonce's and Lady Gaga's choreographer, Sheryl Murakami, are excited to bring their talent to the beach for a special session. All performers are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity. Those who have previous dance experience and would like to learn from these professionals, or would like more information, can contact Terri Morris at 302-745-0654 or visit coastal-dance.com.
