Commending Lewes for planting Christmas tree

December 3, 2024

I want to congratulate you for publishing the story about the new Lewes effort to plant their Christmas tree. I was delighted to read it.

For years, beginning in my childhood, I remember so acutely the pain of seeing dead trees lined up along the alleys after Christmas waiting to be picked up by the trash. Long ago, I transitioned to using an artificial tree. It is so wonderful to read about a city willing to acknowledge the same feelings, and opt for a permanent tree rather than cutting down one of nature’s glories. Thank you so much.
