Concert to highlight youth musicians at Seaford library Dec. 11
Four talented area youth will be showcased at a free concert at 2 p.m., Sunday Dec. 11, in the Woodruff Room of the Seaford Library and Cultural Center.
Guitarist Dorothy McCormick, 13, of Millsboro, is an eighth-grader at McCarville Academy and has been a student at the Guitar Academy of Southern Delaware for four years. When she is not playing guitar, McCormick enjoys art and archery.
Violinist Gil Hoffman, 14, of Frederica is an eighth-grader at W.T. Chipman Middle School and has been a student of Julie Ruiz at the Music School of Delaware for seven years.
Pianist Dominic Anthony, 15, of Seaford, is a 10th-grader at Worcester Preparatory School in Berlin, Md. He has studied with Jeff Scoot for seven years.
Vocalist Lauren Moneymaker, 16, attended Woodbridge High School and is now homeschooled. She has been taking piano lessons at the Music School of Delaware for the last three years and has been classically trained for 11 years. She is also a student of voice and has been in Delaware’s All-State chorus. Moneymaker is a member of several musical ensembles for singing, piano and church worship.
