Concetta D. Campbell, avid world traveler
Concetta "Connie" D. Campbell (Bruno), 87, of Ocean View, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 14, 2024, in her home with family by her side.
Connie was born Nov. 14, 1936, in Wilmington, daughter of the late Anthony and Rose Bruno (Rinarelli.).
She worked for the Twin Memorial Bridge, receiving multiple awards and letters for her dedication. Connie was an avid world traveler, visiting multiple countries and immersing herself in their cultures. She also loved golfing and visiting the beach.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Joseph J. Vicere, Ron Peary and Richard J. Campbell; and a son, Joseph A. Peary.
Connie is survived by her son, Pierino S. Vicere (Tamara); grandchildren, Antonio G. Vicere, Marisa D. Vicere, Jeremy L. Cancelo, Julian N. Peary and Joe Peary; great-grandchildren, Alyxandria and Adonis Vicere, Cecilia Shelton, and Paisley Peary; and her siblings, Lucille Vicario and Anthony Bruno (Sandy).
A funeral service will be held at noon, Tuesday, Sept. 10, at the Ocean View Chapel of Melson Funeral Services, 38040 Muddy Neck Road, Ocean View, where friends may gather at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 32112 Vines Creek Road, Dagsboro.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions in Connie’s name be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, stjude.org; or the ASPCA, aspca.org.
