Crash snarls traffic at Route 9 near Lewes

A Smyrna man was cited Sept. 21, following a crash on Route 9 near Nassau Commons west of Lewes.
The man, 23, was driving a Ford F-150 XLT about 11 a.m. westbound on Route 9, west of Nassau Commons Boulevard, when he veered into the eastbound lane. At the same time, police said an Easton, Md. man, 69, was driving a Honda Pilot eastbound, and the truck struck the front of the Honda. The impact caused the truck to overturn, and collide with a fence and a bush along the Lewes Crossing development.
The driver of the Ford was cited for failing to remain within a single lane. A 69-year-old female passenger in the Honda was transported to a local hospital for evaluation of a possible injury, police said.
