Crosses a reminder of lives lost due to abortion
October 10, 2021
October is Respect Life Month, reminding Catholics of the need to protect and defend human life, from conception to natural death.
The Msgr. Desmond Council of the Knights of Columbus at St. Jude the Apostle Catholic Church, Lewes, has again erected its large cross comprising 65 small crosses on the church grounds adjacent to Route 1 northbound just past Five Points.
Each cross represents the loss of 1,000,000 babies to abortion since 1973. While no one knows the exact number, since there isn’t any federal law requiring the reporting of all abortions, this may be a low estimate. The cross is a reminder to everyone that these babies have lost their most basic right – the right to life.
