Crystal Marie Southard, cherished family, friends

February 17, 2025

Crystal Marie Southard, 44, of Milford, passed away from unexpected medical complications Friday, Feb. 7, 2025, at Bayhealth Sussex Campus in Milford. Crystal was born in Milford, daughter of William John Quillen and the late Anna Elizabeth (Cramer) Quillen.

She started her career as a server with Bonanza in Milford. After several other jobs, she returned to the service industry at the Roadhouse Restaurant in Rehoboth. She then worked as a bartender for Conch Island Restaurant and Bar, and eventually finished her serving career as a manager and bartender at the Coastal Club Community Clubhouse. Crystal then pursued her lifelong dream and became a real estate agent. She first worked for Olson Realty and eventually found her place with Bryan Realty Group, where she was working at the time of her death. Throughout her careers in the service industry and real estate, Crystal always took the time to make that extra special connection with her clients, and some of them became like family to her. In her spare time, Crystal volunteered for the Friends of KSI. Crystal was also an avid bowler, having previously bowled in leagues out of Dover and Millsboro. However, most important to Crystal were her family and close friends, whom she loved, cared for, and supported with all her heart. Crystal was preceded in death by her mother, Anna Elizabeth Quillen.

Crystal is survived by her husband of five years, Robert E. Southard IV; her daughter, Anna L. Miller; her two stepsons, Michael L. Southard and Robert E. Southard V; and her father, William J. Quillen.

The family would like to express their sincere thanks and gratitude to the outstanding doctors, nurses, and supporting hospital staff who lovingly cared for Crystal during her hospital stay.

Funeral services will be private.  A Celebration of Life for Crystal will be held from 6 to 9 p.m., Friday, Feb. 21, at Milford Elks Lodge, Milford.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that contributions be made to KSI, 301 N. Rehoboth Blvd., Milford, DE 19963; or Gift of Life Donor Program, 401 N. 3rd. St., Philadelphia, PA 19123. Make checks payable to the Transplant Foundation.

Arrangements by Lofland Funeral Home, Milford.
