Cyril John Tertel, electrical engineer
Cyril John Tertel, 71, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, at home in Whitehall, Pa., Tuesday, Dec. 17, 2024.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Marion (Quintinksky) Tertel; son, Shaun Tertel and wife Michelle; daughter, Kristie Tertel; brothers, Mark Tertel and wife Mary, and Joe Tertel and wife Sandy; sisters, Theresa Tertel, Midge Reba, Ann Shoup, and husband Ken; and granddaughter, Mia.
He was predeceased by his father, Joseph Tertel; and his mother, Anna (Gulick) Tertel of Mahanoy City, Pa.
Cy graduated with honors from Drexel University (BS) and worked at Air Products in Trexlertown, Pa., as an electrical engineer. In 2022, Cyril retired and spent most of his free time at the family’s home in Ocean View with his beloved wife and two Bengal cats, Mikey and Jesse.
A calling hour will begin at 9 a.m., Thursdays, Dec. 26, at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Catholic Church, Whitehall, Pa., with a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetary, Allentown, Pa.
In lieu of flowers, donations are being accepted by St. Elizabeth of Hungary Catholic Church, 618 Fullerton Ave., Whitehall, PA 18052.
