Daniel T. Littleton, Lewes native
Daniel T. Littleton, 92, of Milton, passed away peacefully Friday, May 18, 2012, at his residence, surrounded by his large loving family. He was born Feb. 19, 1920, in Lewes, son of the late Daniel H. C. and Ethel (Rodgers) Littleton.
A life-long resident of Lewes, Mr. Littleton graduated from Lewes High School, class of 1942. He farmed for many years in Lewes, worked at Beebe Medical Center in the plant engineering department, and retired in 1985 from the state of Delaware highway department. Mr. Littleton loved to sing and dance and he had a green thumb that produced wonderful veggies and fruit. He was a jokester at heart and entertained everyone with his many stories. His favorite food was pizza and he satisfied his sweet tooth with jellies and pudding. He was a very loving husband, father, grandfather and friend who will always be remembered for his generosity and love of life.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Bertha E (Taylor) Littleton; two daughters: Karen Littleton and Anita Littleton, both of Milton; his adopted daughter, Jennifer Morgan of Lewes; his son-in-law, Corey Hayes of Delmar; grandchildren: Makayla and Kayden Gibbs, both of Milton, Katira Wright of Lewes, Antoine Person of Lewes; two sisters-in-law, Minnie Hichens and husband Vernon and Pauline Stevenson, both of Lewes; brother-in-law, Edgar Taylor of Lewes; nieces and nephews: Deborah Heffentrager, Carol Miller, David Stevenson, Bob Stevenson, Donald Slater, Donna Slater, Fredrick Slater, and Sharon Slater, all of Delaware; great-nieces and nephews: Kris and Bobbie Heffentrager, Kelly Prudenti, Shawn Heffentrager, and Stephanie Kelly, all of Delaware; numerous cousins; and close family friend, Shawn Gibbs of Lewes.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, May 24, at Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 16961 Kings Highway, Lewes with Pastor Mike Hurley officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home Thursday, beginning at 9:30 a.m. Interment will be at Henlopen Memorial Park, 28787 Lockerman Road, Milton.
