In honor of Women’s History Month and the community service history of the Village Improvement Association, in 2023, Rehoboth Beach Mayor Stan Mills proclaimed March 20 VIA Day,.
With United in Volunteerism as the theme of this year’s VIA Day, 80 club members celebrated their 231 hours of time given in service all over the Rehoboth area. They cleaned roadsides and developments; baked dinners for Home of the Brave; made wreaths for the St. Nicholas Tea; met to discuss the upcoming fine art and craft show; helped at thrift stores, food pantries and the Community Resource Center; and knitted and sewed blankets for Operation Smile.
VIA women celebrated by volunteering and had fun doing so.
