The DD Entrepreneurial Foundation, in partnership with the Delaware Celebration of Jazz, recently announced that DD Project Wines will be the official wine of the 2023 Rehoboth Beach Jazz Festival.
A full selection of DD Project Wines will be available at all Rehoboth Beach Jazz Festival shows, with the proceeds going directly to the foundation. The DD Entrepreneurial Foundation provides start-up capital to new businesses and grants to existing businesses led by female entrepreneurs, and it funds entrepreneurial opportunities for young women via education and internships. The foundation was created in loving memory of the founder's mother, Diane Rizzo (Dickerson), co-founder of the Capriotti’s Sandwich Franchise, whose trailblazing entrepreneurial spirit is the North Star for all they do.
In 2022, three Delaware female entrepreneurs were awarded grants totaling $20,000 each. This year, the deadline was extended to June 8, which would have been Diane's 70th birthday, creating a 20% increase in grant applications over last year. The foundation will award its second round of grants to recipients at 3 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 15, with this year's three finalists for the 2023 grant cycle to be recognized immediately prior to the Rehoboth Beach Jazz Festival's 34th Grand Jam at Rehoboth Beach Convention Center. Tickets for the Grand Jam are required for entry.
