Deck the halls in Cape May this holiday season

December 7, 2014

Travelers looking to break the holiday habit of staying home or simply yearning to capture the true spirit of the festive season (without all the hard work) should look into spending the most magical time of year in Cape May. Congress Hall and the Virginia Hotel transform into winter wonderlands for the holidays each year. Both hotels will be hosting holiday dinners and jolly party celebrations for families, couples, as well as those just looking for a good time this Christmastime and New Year’s Eve.

Head to Congress Hall, which has everything needed to celebrate the holiday season. Guests can leave the cooking to The Blue Pig Tavern’s chef Jeremy Einhorn with a three-course Christmas dinner with all the trimmings.  Visitors can also enjoy Congress Hall’s Winter Wonderland, which includes Santa’s workshop and train rides on the Congress Hall Express. Sip hot cocoa and walk around Cape May to discover the twinkling lights and charm of this quaint, Victorian town at this very special time of year.

The tree-lighting and holiday concert is set for 5 to 10 p.m., Friday, Dec. 5, with bring the kids to breakfast  with Santa in the Grand Ballroom on weekends. "The Santaland Dairies" dinner and show are also featured at lunches and dinners in the Blue Pig Tavern on select dates.

Guests can also welcome in 2015 with a meal of farm fresh cuisine at the Ebbitt Room Wednesday, Dec. 31. Executive Chef Matthew Crist has been meticulously preparing a special three-course menu to say goodbye to 2014 and hello to new beginnings!

Congress Hall is celebrating the way into 2015 by hosting its annual, elegant New Year's Bash, the Glitter Ball in the Grand Ballroom and celebrate the evening with dinner and dancing to the Tribeca Band.  The party continues after midnight, with a special pass into the Boiler Room after-party. Guests are invited to ring in 2015 in style at the Boiler Room!   Billy D. Light will be rockin’ the room all night long.
