Delane A. Jacobs, great barber
Delane A. Jacobs, 33, of Laurel was born Dec. 18, 1986, to Cynthia Jacobs and the late Willie Rembert in Seaford. He transitioned this life Saturday, Nov. 28, 2020.
Delane started walking at 9 months old and has been going ever since. He attended the Seaford and Laurel school districts, and from there he went to live with his grandmother Gearldine Morris in Selbyville back in Polly Branch. This is where he met Janie Handy who gave him his first and only child, Neziah Jacobs, a name he was proud to give her.
Delane enjoyed being a dad, playing/watching football (Cowboys fan) and dancing. The boy could sing his heart out. He was a great barber; he just didn’t enjoy doing it. Oh, and let’s not forget about Delane playing his PlayStation - it was war when it came to winning. He was also a practical joker; he could make anyone laugh.
He love picking with his sisters; they were always saying, “Mom come get your son.” His brother T.T., while they seemed to be night and day, they were very close. If they both weren’t at home at the same time, one was always asking where the other was. All four of the siblings had a close bond.
Delane, we are all going to miss your smile, your laugh, and that pineapple hairdo that can’t nobody rock like you. You have touched so many hearts and souls in your lifetime. It was too soon for you to go, but I guess the Lord needed you more.
Delane leaves to cherish his memories daughter Neziah Jacobs; his mother Cynthia Jacobs; two sisters, Cintoria Jacobs and Santia Jacobs; and one brother Tyshun Rembert; four nieces Nakiya Jacabs, Tamiya Jacobs, Nykiera Jacobs and Aniya Jacobs; four nephews Kalil Jacobs, Marcus Cannon, Yamere Horsey and Sincere Jacobs; a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins (Morris and Handy’s); and a lot of real good friends and blood brothers.
A funeral service was held Dec. 12, at St. John 2nd Baptist Church, Millsboro. Services entrusted to McPherson Funeral Service Inc., Laurel.
