The Delaware Republican Party has hired Kathleen Rutherford as communications director.
Rutherford will be driving the party’s social media content and maintaining a newly revitalized website. Her focus will be on implementing an effective marketing strategy that will highlight the Delaware Republican Party and its activities.
Rutherford brings with her over 20 years of marketing and sales experience in the private and public sectors. She holds a degree in communications from Brockport State University.
“I am very excited to have a person with Kathleen’s skill and political experience join our team. She will enhance the visibility of the Delaware Republican Party with her social media skills, and she understands the political process that will allow her to properly identify the matters that should be emphasized,” said Jane Brady, chair of the Republican Party of Delaware.
Rutherford began her career in private school admissions working at the Fay School, Wardlaw-Hartridge School, and St. Thomas More Academy. Rutherford has also worked at Kaplan Inc. and Junior Achievement of Delaware, in the marketing and sales division.
Rutherford is no stranger to the Republican Party of Delaware. For the past five years, she had been involved in several major Republican campaigns: Ken Simpler, Hans Reigle, and John Marino. She has also served as a delegate to the Delaware Republican Convention since 2015.
