Delaware Real Estate Investors Association announces new location for Sussex County

Sussex Countians have a new local spot to learn about real estate investing and to network with other investors.

After five years of making the drive north to Dover or Newark every month, Sussex County real estate investors can now meet in Georgetown at Arena’s at the Airport.

Delaware Real Estate Investors Association LLC has announced that monthly meetings will begin in Georgetown Thursday, Jan. 14.

Monthly meeting speakers are local experts in real estate investing, attorneys, accountants, insurance agents, niche experts, Realtors, and others.

People learn about buying and managing rental property, investing in real estate notes, and the very popular flipping houses.

Among the attendees are white collar, blue collar, and T-shirt wearing investors; those with many years of experience, and those wanting to get started.

According to DelREIA’s founder, Mike Ferris of Middletown, “These meetings are part of how we do what we do, which is providing a community for support, education, and success of Delaware’s real estate investors.”

Michele Williams was named the Sussex County group leader, managing the monthly Georgetown meetings and the reach of DelREIA into Sussex County. Williams retired from the Air Force Reserves at the rank of colonel in 2015, after more than 30 years of service.

She has extensive experience in leadership, strategy, policy development and execution, and planning.

Williams transitioned into fulltime real estate investing in January 2013 after a six-year active-duty military service call-up. She is experienced with wholesaling real estate, rehabbing, creating partnerships, and marketing.

“Air Force veterans are an important part of our team,” says Ferris, who left the Air Force as a sergeant after 10 years of service. Ferris said, “We also have one of the best real estate note investing coaches around, Air Force General Phil Drew, Ret. We’re very fortunate to have the team we have.”

The group meets every second Thursday, from 6 to 9 p.m., at Arena’s at the Airport, 10N-1 / 21553 Rudder Lane, Georgetown.

The cost for attendees is $15; first-time guests are free, as are DelREIA annual members.
