Delaware State Fair gets back on schedule

What a difference a year makes. Even though the Delaware State Fair pressed forward and had the event in 2020, the COVID-19 pandemic not only cancelled shows and cut down on crowds, but also saw a reduced number of vendors and even the number of rides and games on the Wade Shows Midway.
That’s not the case during the summer of 2021. Crowds are back, the Midway is as big as its ever been, more vendors have returned and there is a full schedule of concerts, livestock competitions and events during the 10-day run of the summer ritual in Harrington. The fair continues through Saturday, July 31. A large fireworks show at 10 p.m. closes out the fair.

Fair food covers the gamut from the typical to the odd, including deep-fried Oreos, Snickers, Twinkies, tacos and even Reese cups. And there is gator mac-n-cheese, gravy cheese fries, donut cheeseburgers and grilled-cheese barbecue sandwiches.
