The Delaware Department of Transportation advises motorists that roads may be closed or restricted due to flooding and downed trees. Widespread tidal flooding is expected with high tide cycles.
East winds will increase 20 to 30 miles per hour with gusts of 30 to 60 miles per hour possible.
The strongest wind and gusts are expected this afternoon and evening. A period of heavy rain is also possible this afternoon and evening.
Motorists are urged to not drive through standing water. Should motorists encounter a flooded roadway or debris on the road, they are encouraged to contact the Transportation Management Center at #77.
Motorists should be advised of high water levels on the sound bound shoulder near Key Box Road off Route 1, south of Dewey Beach.
