Delmarva Christian cuts ribbon on new Early Learning Center
Delmarva Christian School officially cut the ribbon on its new Early Learning Center at the school’s Milton campus Oct. 11.
The new building houses children from 6 weeks to 3 years old, with 68 children enrolled. Head of School Matt Kwiatkowski said the transition to the new building wasn’t easy, as the kids had to move from their classroom wing in the school to the cafeteria for a month and a half before the new center opened.
He said the new building was a response to an increase in student enrollment at the school, and fortunately, they were able to find an existing modular unit sitting in storage in North Carolina. Kwiatkowski said the school purchased it, sight unseen, and the unit arrived over the summer. Renovation of the unit and preparing it for school use lasted another three-and-a-half months.
Kwiatkowski credited Jen Donihue, Early Learning Center director, for helping make the transition as smooth as possible.
Taking part in the ribbon-cutting are (l-r) Jennifer Reiske, Matt Kwiatkowski, Justin Savini, Marlene Brown, Jen Donihue, Gary Quillen, Donnie Burris, Dave Wilson, and Drew Jensen, along with support team members.
