Dewey Beach movies and bonfire nights to return June 12

Dewey Beach movies and bonfires are back this year, thanks in part to Hyatt Place Dewey Beach.

Families and friends can bring beach chairs to watch movies starting at approximately 8:30 p.m., Mondays, on the beach at Dagsworthy Avenue in Dewey.

Dewey Beach Monday movie night titles for 2017 include:

June 12 - "The Lego Movie"

June 19 - "Tomorrowland"

June 26 - "Alice Through the Looking Glass"

July 3 - "Sing"

July 10 - "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them"

July 17 - "The Good Dinosaur"

July 24 - "The Secret Life of Pets"

July 31 - "Moana"

Aug. 7 - "Finding Nemo"

Aug. 14 - "Finding Dory"

Aug. 21 - "Zootopia"

Aug. 28 - Disney's "The BFG” (2016 film)

For s'more fun, families can bring beach chairs and marshmallows to the beach for bonfires from 7 to 9 p.m., Tuesdays and Wednesdays, at Dagsworthy Avenue in Dewey from Tuesday, June 13 to Wednesday, Aug. 30. Parking is free in Dewey Beach from 5 to 11 p.m., Monday to Wednesday.

These events are weather dependent. In case of inclement weather, cancellations will be determined no later than 7 p.m. for Monday movies and 6 p.m. for bonfires. Notice of cancellation will be posted at the Dewey Beach Life Saving Station bulletin board. Staff will notify Dewey Beach accommodations of cancellations made prior to the start of an event. If weather is clear events will take place as scheduled, but may ended at any time during due to weather conditions.
