DiPaolo promoted at Delaware Community Foundation

July 12, 2024

The Delaware Community Foundation recently announced three promotions.

Mike DiPaolo, who has served as vice president for southern Delaware since 2019, is now vice president of philanthropy and southern Delaware.

Maribeth Przywara was promoted to director of advancement. Michelle Painter has been promoted to finance and operations coordinator.

“I am tremendously proud to announce the promotions of these individuals,” said Stuart Comstock-Gay, DCF president and CEO. “Mike is an outstanding leader committed to fostering teamwork and building the DCF ever stronger, Maribeth’s insight and professionalism working both with fundholders and our team is a great asset, and Michelle’s contributions to our Building Opportunity program created an opportunity in itself to broaden her scope.”

DiPaolo manages the DCF’s philanthropy services team, and he has become a member of the leadership team. He will remain based in the Georgetown office until the DCF’s fall move to its new Lewes office, a project he is spearheading.  DiPaolo joined the DCF after a 17-year run as executive director of the Lewes Historical Society. He also served as chair of Lewes 375, a celebration of the town’s founding.

He earned a master’s degree in library and information science from the University of Pittsburgh and an undergraduate degree from the College of Wooster. In 2012, he added a nonprofit management certificate from Georgetown University. He serves on the board of advisors of the National Trust for Historic Preservation and resides with his family in Lewes.

Having joined the DCF in 2022 to work with fundholders as philanthropy officer, Przywara now manages a team overseeing philanthropic relationships across New Castle County.  She came to DCF from Limen Recovery & Wellness, where she served as director of development, and before that was in a similar role at the Delaware Nature Society. She resides with her family in Wilmington.

Having served as gift administrator since 2016, Painter’s role expanded during the last year when she was tapped to serve as relationship manager for the DCF’s fundraising funds and helped to develop a diversity, equity and inclusion training program for new employees.  In this new role, her responsibilities expand to include routine accounting functions and coordination of DCF’s internal operations. She also serves as the foundation’s liaison to Fund for Women (a giving circle at the DCF) and project manager for the organization’s internal events.

Before joining DCF, Painter oversaw the coordination of fundraising and awareness events for the Delaware Breast Cancer Coalition. Painter resides with her family in Bear.
