Dogfish Head announces virtual Analog A-Go-Go

October 22, 2020

For the 10th anniversary of its annual Analog A-Go-Go event, Dogfish Head will be changing its tune.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Dogfish will conduct the Saturday, Nov. 7 event in an all-virtual format through its Instagram, Facebook and YouTube pages.

“I’m bummed we can’t get together in person to celebrate this milestone occasion but am really happy we can share some off-centered ales virtually while enjoying a whole slew of craft-centric goodness,” said Dogfish founder Sam Calagione.

The virtual event will kick off at 4 p.m. on Dogfish’s Instagram feed with a conversation between Calagione and Ryan Besch, the artist behind this year’s Analog A-Go-Go logo and next year’s Off-Centered Art Series. That’s an annual collection of four beers released over the course of the year with labels and packaging designed by a particular artist.

Besch and Calagione will discuss Besch’s creative process and how the collaboration with Dogfish Head came to be.

At 8 p.m., there will be a livestreamed musical performance by rock band Mt. Joy on Dogfish’s YouTube, Instagram and Facebook feeds. Prior to the show, Calagione will chat with Mt. Joy frontman Matt Quinn about music and beer.

One of the big features of Analog A-Go-Go is the vendors, especially for vintage vinyl records, but those will also be handled virtually. Details are still being worked out, but participating vendors will include Rainbow Records, Frank Norton Illustrations and East Aloha. Links will be posted at the Dogfish website and Instagram page.

Another big feature of Analog is the special beers. This year, Dogfish will offer five specialty beers for drive-thru pickup at its Milton brewery and Rehoboth Beach brewpub. Offerings include Tepache, a sour with pineapple, cinnamon and panela sugar; Pan de Coco, a porter with coconut and cocoa; and a umeboshi fruited sour, all of which are available at the Milton brewery only. At the brewery and Rehoboth brewpub are a strawberry and mosaic hard cider, and a peach and amarillo hard seltzer. Both the brewery and brewpub will also have bottled specials available for curbside pickup.
